App description : HVAC Buddy® Duct CalcHVAC Duct Calc BuddyAre all Duct sizing calculators tedious? The wheel ductulators and computerized versions are pretty amazing but you still are left testing different combinations given a set of design parameters. Duct Calc Buddy goes just a bit further and runs through iterations to generate a list of duct sizes meeting a given friction loss, velocity, and material. Calculations are based on friction loss equations recommended in the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals 2009 to come up with each list of acceptable ducts. Ducts close to the boundary conditions are indicated in yellow while those further outside the limits are red. Change limits and other parameters such as aspect ratio in settings. Considering galvanized vs. Flex? Change the material from Flex to galvanized and HVAC Duct Calc Buddy evaluates sizes meeting your remaining criteria and displays all matching choices. With each design parameter change there is no need to and retry 8x10, 10x12, etc. to see velocities and friction for each as all valid combinations are displayed. It’s easy to adjust your selection and or ranges by pressing up or down arrows as appropriate to expand or contract the list of suitable ducts.
